Summer should be fun, and having lots of friends makes camp even more fun. Summer@WES is known for its kind and diverse community, and our counselors have a remarkable talent for making introductions so that all campers meet and make new friends within minutes, not days or weeks. Shy kids, sports fanatics, art enthusiasts, bookworms, extroverts, gamers, and more―all kids are welcome!
Going to a new camp can be stressful, both for kids and parents. Summer@WES provides a range of activities and opportunities so that campers enjoy coming back week after week. Families can set daily routines and reduce nerves by having a summer “home.” Most WES campers attend two to six sessions of camp during the summer.
Summer @WES is being planned according to all the CDC safety regulations. In addition, we have a top-rated facility on a safe and secure campus. All counselors are also fingerprinted, receive a background check, and are required to take an abuse-prevention program titled Safeguarding God’s Children (established by The Episcopal Church and coordinated by the Episcopal Diocese of Washington)
Kids in the DC area work hard throughout the school year, both in academics and extracurricular activities. We believe summer is the prime time for kids to have fun. Yes, fun! At our camp you will see kids smiling, playing, and enjoying themselves. Our camp is not an intense learning environment or a super-competitive sports setting. We believe summer camp is an excellent time for kids to relax and rejuvenate so that they can be productive during the school year.
Where else will you see a second-grader dressed up as Darth Vader and playing a guitar at a talent show? Summer@WES invites campers to try new things and take risks in a supportive and positive environment. From students picking up a basketball for the first time to attempting to launch a rocket with only a combination of Mentos and cola, students explore a range of activities to discover new interests, hobbies, and pastimes.
